Since 1508, the oldest inn in the capital, not far from the famous Zytglogge Tower, welcomes people from all countries. At that time, the Rathausgasse was a busy and colorful commercial street, traveled by horse and carriage.

People traveled to Bern from near and far - among the guests were many important merchants, scholars and lords of the manor. The medieval charm and the numerous encounters of people from 5 centuries still give the inn a unique spirit. 

In June 2018, the Goldener Schlüssel was taken over by Hotel Goldener Schlüssel Bern AG and has since been part of NBB GmbH.

The management team Mike Jaussi and Laura Canelli have been running the Hotel Restaurant Goldener Schlüssel together since 2019. They have made it their mission to successfully continue the long history of the hotel and restaurant and to pave the way for unforgettable moments for their guests.
